The TER Production Trophy leader eager to start in Madeira!

Jim van den Heuvel, one of the Heuvel Motorsport drivers and current joint leader of the TER Production Trophy, talks about his season before Round 3.

 

1) You won the TER Production Trophy in Ypres, what can You tell us about this event?

Well, like every other event on the TER calendar in Ypres it was my first appearance there, and we liked it. It will be the same in Madeira, and from what I see on movies and hear from other drivers the rally is really nice! We are really looking forward to the event and let's hope it will be as succesful as Ypres for us!

 

2) In 2017 Heuvel Motorsport is making an impression in the TER. You have been awarded the first TER Spirit of the Rally Award in the opening round of Transilvania Rally, and You and your team mates are constantly fighting for the top positions: Robert Woodside was second in Transilvania before having to miss Ypres at the last minute, and Henk Bakkenes is also doing well. How is the atmosphere inside the team?

The atmosphere is great. As you might know our team is a family team. We have very good relations with both our crew members and also with our customers. In my opinion this is needed in order to enjoy what we are doing and it is great to do it all together!

 

3) One of your TER Production Trophy rivals in Madeira will be Juan Carlos Alonso who, like You, has previous experience of World Rally Championship events. Will the tactics be more about championship points or the overall position in Group N?

I will just try to go for the maximum possible. As we never drove against eachother I don't know yet how our pace will be in relation to his. We will do our best anyway and we will try everything to take the class victory!
