Rally Terra Valle del Tevere world class gravel stage attract champions
The opening round of the 2023 TER Series is ready to offer two days of great sporting action on the technical gravel roads between Arezzo, Monterchi, Anghiari, Pieve Santo Stefano and Sansepolcro.
In the TER – Tour European Rally, 2-time Italian Champion Andrea Crugnola will be the first to tackle the stages on his title-winning Citroën C3, ahead of 2019 Italian 2WD Champion Tommaso Ciuffi’s Škoda Fabia.
2013 Italian Champion, and former Works Driver Umberto Scandola gets back to action after a 1-year break discovering the Citroën C3, followed by Frenchman Jean Philippe Quilichini, heading a pack of Fabias. The czech car is also used by Tullio Versace, returning to the newest concept of Rally series, as well as series newcomer and 2016 Italian Gravel Champion Daniele Ceccoli.
Another Fabia for 2022 Rally Terra Valle del Tevere podium finisher Francesco Fanari, who can increase his trophy tally, just like 2022 TER Ladies Trophy winner Rachele Somaschini.
2-time Croatian Junior Champion Martin Ravenščak, with a Ford Fiesta Rally3, leads another group of TER Series newcomers, followed by Fabio Farina in another Fiesta, although in Rally4 spec.
The TER Junior honours fight will see Roberto Daprà's Ford Fiesta battles against Leonardo Pierulivo's Peugeot 208. In the TER 2WD Category, Porto Cervo Racing Team driver Michele Liceri and Luigi Caneschi driving Peugeot 208s are Fabio Farina’s opponents.
The maiden 2023 TER Historic round entries are led by multiple Italian and European Historic Champion Luigi "Lucky" Battistolli, with the iconic Lancia Delta Integrale, followed by Valter Pierangioli’s Ford Sierra Cosworth.
2-time TER Historic Champion and TER Historic Ambassador Tim Metcalfe’s Ford Escort RS will battle against the sister car of Germano Bollini.
