TER Series drivers show great pace in Rallye Antibes

20.05.2023

The fight continues in tricky conditions

Sporting action resumed on a cloudy morning, with light rain falling over some of the World Class stages across the mountains overlooking the French Riviera.

Carrying on from where he had finished the opening leg, Yoann Bonato codriven by Benjamin Boulloud was fastest in all of the morning's stages. The Citroën C3 driver increased his lead to just under 20 seconds over the sister car of Hugo Margaillan and Laëtitia Marsault, struggling to keep the leader's pace on the longest tests. On the third podium step is Nicolas Ciamin, codriven by Yannick Roche on a Volkswagen Polo.

The Renault Clio of Pierre Paul Baltolu with Margot Dupuy continues to show great pace and to lead the TER Junior. In the TER 2WD fight, Dirk Schram and Antonello Moncada's Peugeot 208 Rally 4 is increasing its adavantage over the Renault Clio Rally4 which Allison Viano shares with Christelle Bou-Meunier.

The Italian crew of Gabriele Rossi and Fabrizio Handel leads the J1/J2 category, for their first TER Historic season event with the Ford Sierra Cosworth.

The battle is on also in the TER W Series standings too: behind Yoann Bonato slowly stretching his lead over team mate Hugo Margaillan, another great fight is going on for the final step of the podium: Eric Camilli's Citroën is third but under threat from the Alpine A110 Rally driven by Raphaël Astier: 2nd fastest on the long Col De Bleine test, and 3rd fastest on SS 9, the RGT leader is only 2 seconds behind his rival at the mid-day break.
