Champions chase 2023 TER – Tour European Rally Round 4 success

Many international crews star in #RA Rally Regione Piemonte

The 2023 TER – Tour European Rally returns to tarmac; the vineyard-laden hills of the Langhe Roero Monferrato UNESCO World Heritage site are the scene of #RA Rally Regione Piemonte’s technical stages.

 

Many champions will fight for victory in the Piedmont event: winner of the 2023 season opener in Rally Terra Valle del Tevere, 2-time Italian Champion Andrea Crugnola codriven by Pietro Elia Ometto targets a maiden success on the challenging roads around Alba, with a Citroën C3 Rally2. A welcome return in the newest concept of rally series, Fabio Andolfi and Nicolò Gonella will drive a Škoda Fabia Rally2. New entry in the TER – Tour European Rally is the 2014 Italian Junior Champion Giacomo Scattolon, sharing a Volkswagen Polo GTI with Sauro Farnocchia.

 

Amongst the international champions, starring in #RA Rally Regione Piemonte, 2022 TER – Tour European Rally, Asia-Pacific and New Zealand Champion, TER Series AmbassadorHayden Paddon. The Hyundai New Zealand driver is fresh from a record tenth victory in Otago Rally, opening round of the TER W Series, and will tackle his first tarmac event with the Hyundai I20N Rally2, codriven by the 2022 TER Codriver Trophy winner Jared Hudson.

 

Winner of the 2022 TER Promo Event in Guanajuato, Mexico, 2020 WRC2 World Champion Mads Østberg will share a Citroën C3 Rally2 with Patrik Barth. In a sister car, 2022 Rally di Alba TER – Tour European Rally second placed Stéphane Lefebvre and Andy Malfoy make another welcome return.

 

2022 TER Ladies Trophy winner, Rachele Somaschini, is joined by Arianna Faustini on another Citroën C3.

 

TER Series returnee Alberto Dall’Era and Luca Beltrame, with a Volkswagen Polo, will precede a quartet of crews on Škoda Fabias: Frenchman Mathieu Arzeno and Romain Roche will contest their first event this season; strong local Massimo Marasso, codriven by Luca Pieri, aims to put his knowledge of the area to good use. Young Swiss Yoan Loeffler takes a step forward from Rally5 to Rally2 machinery, with Herve Faucher, while 2019 TER – Tour European Rally runners-up Stefan Gottig and Natalie Solbach-Schmidt start their third season round.

 

Two crews return to the 2023 TER – Tour European Rally after the opening round, both driving Peugeot 208 Rally4. Fabio Farina and Gabriele Zanni will try to increase their TER 2WD leadership, while Roberto Daprà with Luca Guglielmetti are looking for revenge after their great performance in Rally Terra Valle del Tevere came to an early end.
