Pryce leads Evans midway through TER - Tour European Rally round 7 JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion Day 1

Volkswagen 1-2 after the opening loop

 

On a beautiful sunny morning in the Aberystwyth countryside, the crews of JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion took to the technical welsh tarmac stages.

 

Driving a Volkswagen Polo Osian Pryce, codriven by Stéphane Prevot, holds the leadership at the midday regroup: fastest in SS2, and despite a small loss of time in SS1, the 2022 British Champion precedes the sister car of Meirion Evans and Jonathan Jackson, who set the best times on the other two morning stages but were forced to slow down after a puncture on SS2. The Hyundai I20N of James Williams and Dai Roberts keeps third place, after a troubled morning in which they had to face a small off in SS2 and a broken headlamp in SS3.

 

In TER Junior, Irish talents Kyle McBride and Liam McIntyre take a clean sweep of fastest times on their Ford Fiesta, and end the morning with a small gap over the sister car of fellow Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy Aoife Raftery, with Geraldine McBride at the pacenotes.
