TER – Tour European Rally and TER Historic set for Swiss showdown.
The TER – Tour European Rally is heading to the Swiss Alps for its third round with the prestigious Rallye du Chablais, marking the event’s fifth year hosting both the TER – Tour European Rally and TER Historic championships.
Based in Aigle, the rally will showcase special stages set against the stunning backdrop of the Swiss Alps, spanning the picturesque neighborhoods of cantons Vaud and Valais. Last year’s edition saw legendary driver Sébastien Loeb claim victory, setting the stage for another competitive battle among Europe’s top rally talent.
After two rounds, young Italian sensation Matteo Bernini, codriver by Lorenzo Mattucci, leads the TER – Tour European Rally standings at just 17 years old, ahead of Spain’s Santi Garcia.
The TER Historic championship will also feature fierce competition, with the Rallye du Chablais serving as the second round of the season.
Luca Grilli, TER Promoter and Organiser, said: “Rallye du Chablais is now a regular fixture on the calendar of TER – Tour European Rally and TER Historic. Our collaboration with the Swiss organisers grows and evolves year after year in promoting the event and the fascinating territory that hosts it. It will be a demanding weekend for TER with the Swiss round taking place at the same time as the 2nd round of TER Series, the World Series of TER, on the Caribbean island of Barbados, for another milestone in the TER championships, Rally Barbados, now in its 4th year in the world series.”
The 22. Rallye du Chablais will take place in Aigle from May 28th to 30th.
