The 17-year-old Italian, codriven by Lorenzo Mattucci, claims victory in the 2nd round of the 2026 series with the Škoda Fabia RS.

This weekend in Poreč, Croatia, history was made in the TER – Tour European Rally during its eleventh season.

Matteo Bernini, 17 years old, dominated the 2nd round of the series, the Rally Poreč in Croatia’s Istrian region.

The young driver, just 17, delivered a perfect first leg with his co-driver Lorenzo Mattucci on a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2,  then controlled his lead over the pursuers on the second day to etch his name as the youngest winner in the history of the European TER, which in 2026 is in its eleventh edition.

Second step on the podium went to the 2025 Rally Poreč winning duo, the 8-time Slovenian champion Rok Turk alongside Blanka Kacin in the Hyundai i20N Rally2, who finished 27.8 seconds behind Bernini.

Third place, 1 minute off the winner, was Marko Grossi and Tara Berlot in the Citroën C3 Rally2.

In a summery weekend in Poreč, the action didn’t disappoint, under beautiful sunshine and the stunning colors of the Istrian landscape.
