Ivan Ares leads the pack after the first loop of 40th Rallye Sierra Morena

Hyundai 1-2 in 2023 TER Series Round 2 in Córdoba
In the first loop of stages on the technical roads of Andalucía 2021 TER – Tour European Rally winner Iván Ares, codriven by José Antonio Pintor on a Hyundai i20N Rally2, took a hat trick of stage wins, to climb in the lead.
Pepe López, sharing a sister car with Borja Rozada, was joint fastest with Ares in the second test, closing within 0.3 seconds of the lead at mid-leg service.
Third place for Jose Antonio Suarez and Alberto Iglesias, at their maiden experience on the brand-new Škoda Fabia RS Rally2. The 2021 TER – Tour European Rally bronze medal crew, fastest in the fourth stage, is 5.1 seconds adrift of Ares after the 4th Special Stage.
2-time Iberian Rally Trophy winner, Hyundai Motor España driver Surhayen Pernía codriven by Alba Sánchez on a Hyundai i20 N Rally2 is holding.a solid fourth place, in front of the sister car of Jose Luis Pelaez and Alberto Chamorro.
