20.05.2023

Margaillan and Camilli complete a Citroën C3 gridlocked podium

In the 2023 edition of Rallye Antibes Côte d'Azur, round 2 of the new TER W Series, a great battle between team mates saw 4-time French Champion Yoann Bonato, codriven by Benjamin Boulloud, take the upper hand to climb on the top step of the final podium in Antibes.

His team mate, 2019 French Junior Champion Hugo Margaillan and Laetitia Marsault, finished second. Winner of the 2 opening stages, and holding on the lead until Friday's final stage, he kept at striking distance but had to settle for silver.

Former WRC driver Eric Camilli, with Thibault De La Haye, was fastest in 2 stages and completed the podium.

A great comeback for local hero Nicolas Ciamin, sharing a Volkswagen Polo with Yannick Roche. After losing some time on the first leg, he fought back to clinch fourth on the final stage, ahead of the Alpine A110 Rally of 2-time RGT Cup Winner Raphaël Astier with Denis Giraudet, fastest in SS6 and fifth overall.
