Hayden Paddon leads TER – Tour European Rally Round 5 in Wales

The Kiwi driver takes a clean sweep of stage wins.

In round 5 of the 2022 TER – Tour European Rally, after a spectacular opening town stage in Aberystwyth, and two challenging night tests, the crews are tackling the demanding welsh closed road stages taking the fight for the event but also the championship win down to the wire.

Hayden Paddon and Jared Hudson were fastest in all of Sunday morning’s stages. The Hyundai i20 crew mastered the changing grip conditions, and closed the morning loop with a 4'49''.0 advantage over 2-time Swiss Champion Ivan Ballinari, codriven by Marco Menchini, on a Volkswagen Polo R5.

Not an easy morning for the other Volkswagen Polo R5, driven by Jason Pritchard and Phil Clarke. Despite a good pace on Saturday, the local heroes had an accident on the morning's opening stage and were forced to retire while in second position.
