Simone Tempestini, leader of TER - Tour European Rally 2016, wins Transilvania Rally and increases his lead in the National Championship.
Four drivers entered in the 2016 TER in the top five.
Simone Tempestini, codriven by Marc Banca, won Transilvania Rally in Cluj-Napoca with the Ford Fiesta R5 - Team Bernini, the same car that Simone used in May to win Arad Rally Kia, the opening round of the 2016 Tour European Rally series. Simone leads the Romanian championship with two events to go, in a bid to secure his second straight title after his maiden win last year.
Tempestini-Banca won 7 of the 10 special stages of Transilvania Rally, which featured a total of 106,94 kms of competitive action, and finished 1'08"3 ahead of the sister car of Bogdan Marisca - Carmen Poenaru (who was codriving for Tempestini in Arad). TER driver Dan Girtofan, with Marza, took third place on his Skoda Fabia R5, ahead of fellow TER competitors Gergo Szabo and Edwin Keleti who finished fourth and fifth overall respectively.
