After three runs, Loubet holds a slender lead of 1.5 seconds over Tidemand. Valentino Ledda provisionally occupies third place, while Simone Firenze sets the pace in the Trofeo d’Italia kart-cross division. The competition resumes tomorrow with two more ascents preceding the decisive “Manscione” which will determine the King of Tandalò for 2025. Historic
The first day of the event organized by Tandalò Motorsport and drivEvent Adventure delivered unprecedented conditions, as a substantial overnight snowfall and intermittent daytime flurries transformed the 5‑kilometre gravel course into a winter landscape. This unforeseen weather elevated the technical demands of the rally, which also serves as a TER Promo Event.
The principal contest featured Pierre‑Louis Loubet (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, co-driven by Jean‑François Mancini) and Pontus Tidemand (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, co-driven by David Olsson, Delta Rally). Loubet, the 2019 WRC2 World Champion, led after winning two of the day’s three timed stages. Tidemand, 2017 WRC2 World Champion, established the pace early but lost time in subsequent stages, setting the scene for a renewed challenge on day two.
Italian and Sardinian aspirations are upheld by Valentino Ledda of Burgos (ACI Team Italia), debuting with a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 (Delta Rally). Ledda, alongside Claudio Mele, stands third overall, trailing the leader by 9.5 seconds after a measured start and two strong subsequent runs.
Fourth place provisionally belongs to Henning and Maud Solberg (GR Yaris Rally2), twelve seconds behind, having recovered time in the third ascent. Fifth are Alberto Battistolli and Simone Scattolin, fifteen seconds back in a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 shared with Tidemand-Olsson. Spanish driver Antonio Lence Lopez leads the kart-cross class in a Yacar, 1.2 seconds behind Battistolli.
The Trofeo d’Italia kart-cross category saw seasoned gravel competitors battle for supremacy. Three stage wins by multiple Italian ice champion Simone Firenze (“El Diablo,” GMN) secured a four-second lead over Quirico Fundoni (Yacar), top performer in shakedown. Christian Tiramani (Planet) holds third, eight seconds further back. Fifteen-year-old Bernardo Bitti (Benetutti, Sassari) impresses in fourth, narrowly ahead of Lorenzo Ruiu (Yacar, Nuoro), separated by just two tenths of a second.
In the TER Team, Nico Signorini is growing step by step with the Yacar Suzuki 600 KartCross and is setting very interesting stage times.
Unlucky Cronoscalata Tandalò for Luca Grilli: the Organiser and Promoter of TER, also driving a Yacar Suzuki 600 KartCross, rolled after a few kilometres of shakedown and is forced to retire from the race.
The race concludes tomorrow with two more ascents at 08:00 and 11:00, followed by the “Manscione” stage at 14:30 to crown the King of Tandalò 2025. The prize-giving ceremony will take place at Villaggio Tandalò at 15:45.
