Kaspar Kasari and Rainis Raidma are leading the TER - Tour European Rally standings after the opening day in Latvia, while local WRC star Martins Sesks dominates the overall classification.
The third round of the TER – Tour European Rally has brought the championship to Latvia, showcasing the spectacular gravel roads of Rally Cēsis.
Cēsis, a picturesque town in northern Central Vidzeme Upland, provides the perfect backdrop for this international motorsport showdown.
After the first day of competition, Estonians Kaspar Kasari and Rainis Raidma are leading the TER - Tour European Rally standings with their Ford Fiesta Rally2, holding a 14‑second advantage over the Škoda Fabia R5 of fellow countrymen Vaiko Samm and Kaimar Taal.
The Latvian duo Elviss Hermanis and Gatis Veilands sit third, just 52 seconds off the leading pace in their Fabia.
In the TER Historic championship, Emils Blūms and Didzis Eglītis are flying the flag for Latvia, finishing day one at the head of the field in their classic Vaz 2101.
Meanwhile, local idol and WRC sensation Martins Sesks takes charge in the general classification, piloting his Škoda Fabia Proto to the top position among the entire Rally Cēsis entry in front of Volver's Skoda and Sirmacis' Mitsubishi.
Six special stages lie ahead for the crews in tomorrow’s decisive leg, culminating in the final arrival ceremony at Cēsis’ iconic Vienības laukums.
