The seven-time Slovenian champion leads the TER standings ahead of Grossi and Bottoni.
The crews contesting Round 1 of the TER – Tour European Rally, Rally Poreč on the Istrian peninsula of Croatia, faced changing weather conditions during Saturday’s stages.
With seven fastest stage times, Slovenian favorites Rok Turk and Blanka Kacin, driving a Hyundai i20N Rally2, secured the overnight lead by 35.2 seconds over the Citroën C3 Rally2 of Marko Grossi and Tara Berlot.
The 2023 Slovenian champion fought closely with Turk over the first two stages, before Turk increased his pace and set the fastest time on all subsequent tests.
The final step of the provisional TER podium is occupied by the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 of Italians Federico Bottoni and Sofia Peruzzi, who are 14.8 seconds ahead of 16-year-old Italian rally prospect Matteo Bernini, co-driven by Lorenzo Mattucci in a Hyundai i20 R5.
Slovenian Martin Čendak, sharing an Opel Corsa Rally4 with Markežič Jakob, takes an impressive fifth place overall in TER and leads the TER Junior category.
Croatians Marko Fakin and Aleksandar Radovčić lead the TER 2WD classification in their Renault Clio Rally5, ahead of Bratina’s Peugeot 208 Rally4 and Boscariol’s Renault Clio.
Ambrož Kavs, making his debut in a Ford Fiesta Rally3, ends the day seventh in TER.
