Paddon to begin 2022 TER season in Alba!

09.05.2022

Hyundai New Zealand driver returns to Italy and to tarmac rallying.

The TER – Tour European Rally season continues to attract World Class drivers to its events, a great blend of sporting action, wonderful tourism locations and dedicated global TV promotion.

Hayden Paddon and John Kennard will drive a Hyundai i20 R5 by HMI in next month’s Rally di Alba.
Based in the Langhe area, a Unesco World Heritage site in Piedmont known for its vineyard landscapes, the fourth round of the 2022 Tour European Rally will also be valid for the Italian and Swiss Championships.
The newest concept of Rally series welcomes one of its 2022 Ambassadors turned competitor: the former Hyundai Motorsport works driver with one WRC victory (2016 Argentina), a 2011 PWRC World Championship and five New Zealand Championships under his belt.

Hayden Paddon: “I am so excited to be working with the TER, and to be back rallying in Europe, our first time in almost 3 years. In fact Alba will also be our first tarmac rally in over 4 years, but I have followed Rally Alba a lot in the past and the stages look amazing. We look forward to being there soon for our first time in the TER, and working with HMI Hyundai, a team we have very good memories with.

Luca Grilli – TER Promoter and Organiser: “To be working once again with two World Class professionals like Hayden and John,   and to welcome HMI back after their previous TER season representing Hyundai Motorsport, are two great news and yet another indication that our project is going forward, as we always said, one step at a time. There is more to come, and everyone at TER is working full steam ahead for the forthcoming rounds.
