The spectacular ARCTIC LAPLAND RALLY in the Lappish wilderness, set in the magical hometown of Santa Claus, will once again mark the start of the TER Promotional calendar.

Thanks to the collaboration between Visit Rovaniemi and TER, the legendary Arctic Lapland Rally will once again open the 2026 TER Promotional Events, bringing the thrill of snow and ice back to the international rally scene.

Set in Rovaniemi, deep within the Arctic Circle and known as the hometown of Santa Claus, the event is renowned among drivers and fans alike for its breathtaking landscapes, challenging frozen stages, and the unique glow of the polar night.

The Arctic Lapland Rally will take place over two days of competition, from January 29th to 31st, the rally will cover almost 200 kilometers of timed Special Stages, offering a demanding mix of high-speed sections and icy corners that test both skill and endurance.
Local and international crews will face the raw elements of Lapland’s winter wilderness in what is considered one of the most spectacular and distinctive rallies in the world.

Promoted internationally on television as a TER Promo Event, the Arctic Lapland Rally continues to showcase the spirit of rallying beyond traditional boundaries, connecting fans and competitors across different surfaces and cultures.

The partnership with Visit Rovaniemi helps emphasize the event’s sportsmanship, media visibility, and international appeal, qualities that make it the perfect opening act for the 2026 TER season.

This long-standing collaboration allows Rovaniemi to join the global promotion alongside other fantastic locations that host TER events, such as Dunedin in the Otago region of New Zealand, Port Elizabeth in South Africa, Sardinia in Italy, Rokiškis in Lithuania, A Coruña in the Galician region of Spain, Poreč in the Istrian region of Croatia, the town of Aigle in the historic Chablais region of Switzerland, and others.
