Burri and Basso battle for TER supremacy in Valais

The Skoda Fabia R5 of Olivier Burri with Jean Jacques Ferrero leads the 59th Rallye International du Valais, final round of the 2018 TER – Tour European Rally. The 6 fastest stage times set by the crew give them a thin lead of 3.1” on last year's winners, and TER defending champions, Giandomenico Basso and Lorenzo Granai (Skoda Fabia R5) who were fastest in the 3 remaining stages of the opening day. Third place is held by Michael Burri codriven by Andersson Levratti in another Fabia, the czech R5 car trusting the first five places with Mike Coppens and Renaud Jamoul preceding Ivan Ballinari and Paolo Pianca. Sixth place for the Ford Fiesta of Cedric Althaus and Jessica Bayard, ahead of the Skoda Fabia of Federico Della Casa with Domenico Pozzi. Back-to-back TER2 Cup winners Joachim Wagemans and Francois Geerlandt are eighth in their Peugeot 208 T16. The top ten is rounded off by the Ford Fiesta of Jean-Marc Salomon with David Comment and the Skoda Fabia of Stefan Gottig codriven by Nathalie Solbach-Schmidt.


2018 TER Production Trophy winners Filip Pyck and Peter Dehouck are enjoying the swiss stages for their first experience in the event.


In the TER 2WD Trophy fight, Timo and Rebecca Van Der Marel (Opel Adam) are in the overnight lead. The two Peugeot 208 R2 of Thomas Schmid with Quentin Marchand and Sacha Althaus codriven by Lisiane Zbinden complete the podium. Fourth place for the Renault Clio of Alexandru Filip and Florin Dorca ahead of the Ford Fiesta of Renato Pita with Alba Sanchez.
