Wagemans secures back-to-back TER Junior title

27.09.2018

Joachim Wagemans has won the 2018 DMACK TER2 Cup. The young Belgian driver with his usual Peugeot 208 R2 has secured victory in the first three season rounds in Transilvania, Antibes and Ypres to clinch a second consecutive title after his maiden success in 2017.

One of the 2017 TER - Tour European Rally season winners and stars who returned to the series this year (like 2017 overall winners Giandomenico Basso - Lorenzo GranaiTER 2WD Trophy winner Renato PitaTER Production Trophy podium finishers Henk Bakkenes and Filip Pyck and TER 2WD Trophy driver Alexandru Filip), Wagemans's victory grants him a rally in a R5 car, within a professional team, on an all costs paid basis. This adds to the same prize which Joachim secured with his success in the 2017 TER2 Cup and which, in agreement with the TER - Tour European Rally promoters and organisers, he had chosen to claim in 2019.

Joachim Wagemans, who has gained valuable experience within the TER concept in a family-backed professional team with the help of  his father Marc, stepped up to an R5 car in the fourth round of Rali Vinho da Madeira finishing in the top ten. Before the final round at Rallye International du Valais on 18-20 Oct he has a chance to secure the 2018 TER - Tour European Rally overall title.
