Gigi Galli is the King of Tandalò, 2023 TER Promo Event

Former WRC driver wins the Sardinian TER Promo Event ahead of 2023 TER Drivers Scandola and Lopez

 

After two days of challenging conditions, the Cronoscalata di Tandalò declared former Mitsubishi and Ford WRC driver Gigi Galli to be the King of Tandalò.

 

The Italian, on his notorious Kia Rio RX, took the victory in all the five manches between Saturday and Sunday, in which drivers needed to claim the access to the last manche, and then clinched the victory in the final shoot out. Second place for 2013 Italian Champion Umberto Scandola, only one thousandth of a second faster than Spanish Champion and TER – Tour European Rally Round 2 winner Pepe Lopez, both driving a Hyundai I20 R5.

 

2023 TER – Tour European Rally Champion Osian Pryce and 3-time TER Historic Pre 81 Champion Tim Metcalfe also showed great pace during the weekend, enjoying their first kartcross experience on the World Class gravel of Sardegna.
